Chapter 2 Preparations

Installation

Follow the steps below to install a DIMM.
1.
See steps 1 to 6 in Chapter 2 (1.2 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.
2.
Open levers on left and right sides of DIMM slot
3.
Push the DIMM straight into the slot.
When a DIMM is inserted into the slot, the lever automatically closes
.

4.
Continue to install/remove the internal options.
5.
Refer to Chapter 2 (1.5 Top Cover) in this manual to replace the top cover of the server.
6.
Refer to Chapter 2 (2. Installation and Connection) in this manual to install/connect and turn the
power ON.
7.
Confirm that no error messages are displayed in POST screen
8.
Configure memory mode using RBSU of System Utility.

Important
Make sure the orientation of the DIMM. The DIMM has a notch,
preventing being incorrectly inserted.
Do not apply too much pressure when you push a DIMM into the slot.
Doing so can damage the socket or terminal part.
Note
In order to prevent damage of the system due to improper cooling or elevated
temperature, please do not activate the server or enclosure without implementing
any of component or blank on all of drive bays and device bays.
