Technical Information
power transistors (IGBT) are a possible cause of faults.
1. Remove the cooktop and disconnect it from power; see Section 010-4.4.
2. Remove the ceramic surface; see Section 010-4.5.
3. Remove the selection electronic; see Section 010-4.6.
4. Remove all induction coils (see Section 010-4.7).
5. Remove the induction-coil mounting bracket; see Section 010-4.8.
6. Using a multimeter set to "2MΩ", measure the resistance between the middle
(Figure 010-18, Item 1) and outer contacts (Figure 010-18, Item 2) on all
power transistors on the power electronic(s). The multimeter's red test lead
must go on the middle contact of the transistor to do this test properly.
7. If the resistance is between 1 and 1.5 megaohms (MΩ), then the power
transistor is in order.
8. If the resistance is zero ohms, then the power transistor is defective. Replace
the affected power electronic; see Section 010-4.9.
