Rodgers C-IOO and C-220 Classic Keyboards™
This section will outline the procedures for creating Multi-
Track Sequences using Rodgers C-I00 or C-220 Classic
Keyboards™. This section will also be of use to people who
want to create a Multi-Track sequence with the PR-300 using
products other than those listed in previous sections
Rodgers C-lOO and C-220 Keyboards are able to use any of
the 16 MIDI channels to control instruments in the PR-300. As
the PR-300 is normally configured to receive on channels 1-10,
these will be the channels used to control the PR-300's sounds.
The Rodgers C-l00 and C-220 keyboards also have internal
sounds which can be used in Multi-Track sequences. The C-l00
and C-220 have three different modes which allow you
to
select
the receive channels for internal sounds:

A Multi-Track Recording can use a combination of the PR-
300 and keyboard sounds; the MIDI channel used will determine
which instrument plays. So that instruments in the PR-3oo don't
conflict with instruments in the C-I00/C-220, the receive
channels for the C-l00/C-220 must be different than those for
the PR-300 (1-10, as stated above).
For this reason, we will put the C-l00/C-220 in MIDI Mode
1, so its receive channels are 1, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15
&
16. Channel
1 is the only channel which both the PR-300 and C-l00/C-220
both receive, and we will show you how to get around this in the
next section. When properly set, the PR-300 will receive on
channels 1-10 and the C-lOO/C-220 will receive on channels 11-
16.
When building a Multi-Track recording (or using the PR-
300 in real-time with a C-lOO or C-220) the transmit channel you
use will determine which instrument plays. For instance, if you
want to playa PR-300 sound, your need to transmit on channel
between 1 and 10; if you want to control sounds of the C-loo/C-
220 you need to transmit on channels 11-16.
Unlike Rodgers organs, it doesn't matter what sequence PR-
300 and C-l00/C-220 sounds are recorded. In other words, you
can use sounds from each instrument in any order (you don't
have to record the C-IOO/C-220 last, as with other Rodgers
organs).
If the keyboard you are using doesn't have the capability to
send on different MIDI channels, see the section entitled, "When
the Send Channel Can't be Changed ...).
