Recording Pickup Notes
Usually, the PR-300 doesn't allow you to record
anything before the rlfSt measure of a song (the two
pickup measures, labeled "-2" and "-I", usually don't
record anything).
However, it is possible to record pickup notes in
the "-I
II
measure so that measure numbers are correct
for the rest of the song (see example at right).
To record in the last pickup measure ("-1 "):
(1) Press [RESET], if necessary, to return to the
beginning of the song.
(2) Press [COUNT IN] so that its indicator lights.
(3) Press [REC].
(4) Press [BWD]. The display will change from "1"
to "PU" (which stands for "Pick-Up").

(6) Press [PLAY] and you'll hear the usual two
measures of count-in. This time, though, you'll
be able to record notes during the "-I" pickup
measure.
If you're using Key-On Start (by playing
notes after a track is selected rather than
pressing [PLAY]) and the [COUNT IN]
feature is disabled, the recording will start
immediately from the beginning of the
"-I
II
measure.
