CHAPTER 2 Checks and Preparation
Each input terminal
The connecting procedure of the signal input cable is described.
During wiring, confirm that the signal's supply source is turned OFF to prevent electrical shocks.
Also, position the GL840 input cable away from any power lines and ground cables.
1. Voltage input
+ .....................................High-voltage terminal (terminal input on the input signal's high-voltage side)
- ......................................Low-voltage terminal (terminal input on the input signal's low-voltage side)
2. Thermocouple input
Connect thermocouple to the + and – terminals.
3. Current input
Attach shunt resistance when measuring the current input.
4. Logic / pulse input
No. 1 to 4: High-voltage terminal (terminal input on the input signal's high-voltage side)
G: Low-voltage terminal (terminal input on the input signal's low-voltage side)
LOGIC/PULSE
GND
G is the GND terminal for this GL840.
For the maximum input voltage, refer to "Regarding Maximum Input Voltage" in the next page.

Shunt resistance
E.g.: For 4-20mA, add 250Ω (±0.1%) resistance and
measure with a 1-5V range.
* For shunt resistance, use the B-551 (option).
When inserting the cable, insert it while pressing here.
