Main Outputs Menu

The Main Outputs Menu determines which audio source is present on each of the rear-panel connections including Main FM
Out 1, Main FM Out 2, Aux Out, and Analog Out. Output level adjustment controls are provided for each. This menu also
controls the source audio for the AES Main FM Out 1 and Out 2 outputs and enables the use of the AES Main FM Out 1 and Out
2 as Omnia Direct sources, the system jointly created by Nautel and Omnia which digitally transfers the composite baseband
signal from the processor directly to the exciter over AES.
The Main FM Out 1, Main FM Out 2, Aux Out, and Analog Out drop-down controls offer a choice of FM pre-
emphasized or FM de-emphasized audio, audio from the HD-1, HD-2, and HD-3 processing cores (depending upon
configuration) and audio from the Headphone, Speaker, and Aux monitor outputs, as well as several other useful
selections.
Note:
The FM Pre-final L/R output allows audio just before pre-emphasis and clipping to be routed to any of the
rear panel outputs (Main FM Out 1, Main FM Out 2, Aux Out, or Analog Out). Audio from this output point
has been level-adjusted for 12dB of headroom and is ideal for feeding an external stereo generator with a
full FM clipper back-end, such as the Omnia.9sg.
This is also the proper output signal to use to feed a Nielsen encoder and subsequently route the encoded
audio back into Omnia.9 just ahead of the final clipper.
Once "Pre-final L/R" has been selected to feed a selected rear panel output, the Input Source, Insert Mode,
and Insert Delay controls in the System > I/O Options > FM Options menu can be used to properly route
audio into and back from the Arbitron encoder and compensate for the latency introduced by doing so.
The corresponding Level sliders adjust the output levels.
The AES FM Out 1 and Out 2 drop-down controls set the source audio for the Omnia Direct outputs and include L/R
audio, MPX 1, MPX 2, or both MPX 1 and 2.
