HD PROCESSING MENU
HD Processing Final
The HD Processing Final adjustments are similar to those found in the FM final adjustments, except that for FM, you
♦
have the final clipper, but for HD you have the final look-ahead limiter.
The Treble adjustment allows you to roll off the higher audio frequencies to match those heard on FM, since, due to FM's
♦
pre emphasis processing, HD audio may sound overly bright in comparison. This helps to match HD vs FM when the
receivers blend back to analog FM from HD. The reason for having this control in the HD section (despite the multitude
of other ways to reduce high frequency content available) is to be able to easily modify an FM preset without having to
make any other changes, which would then affect the FM section if the same preset were to be loaded for FM. By only
adjusting the Treble control, the same preset can remain compatible with both HD and FM.
Meter Options Menu
Just as the FM section has a Meter Options menu, so does the HD section, including Loudness Meters, Loudness Matched
A/B, Test Input, and Comparison Output sub-menus which make it possible to conduct A/B comparisons with another HD
processor while matching gain and delay.
