Determining the Redundant Path of a "Turbo Ring V2" Ring
If there are 2N IE-SW units (an even number) in
the "Turbo Ring" ring, then the backup segment
is one of the two segments connected to the
(N+1) st IE-SW (i.e., the IE-SW unit directly
opposite the master).
If there are 2N+1 IE-SW units (an odd number)
in the "Turbo Ring" ring, with IE-SW units and
segments labeled counterclockwise, then
segment N+1 will serve as the backup path.
For the example shown here, N=1, so that
N+1=2.
For a "Turbo Ring V2" ring, the backup segment
is the segment connected to the 2nd redundant
port on the master.
