Undoing Commands

When you enter a command, the command line is added to the running configuration file (running-config).
To disable a command and remove it from the running-config, enter the no command, then the original command. For example, to
delete an IP address configured on an interface, use the no ip address ip-address command.
NOTE: Use the help or ? command as described in
Example of Viewing Disabled Commands
Dell(conf)#interface tengigabitethernet 2/17
Dell(conf-if-te-2/17)#ip address 192.168.10.1/24
Dell(conf-if-te-2/17)#show config
!
interface TenGigabitEthernet 2/17
ip address 192.168.10.1/24
no shutdown
Dell(conf-if-te-2/17)#no ip address
Dell(conf-if-te-2/17)#show config
!
interface TenGigabitEthernet 2/17
no ip address
no shutdown
Layer 2 protocols are disabled by default. To enable Layer 2 protocols, use the no disable command. For example, in PROTOCOL
SPANNING TREE mode, enter no disable to enable Spanning Tree.
