Configuration Parameters

1. Enable password
Secures management access to the
configuration level of the CLI.
2. Administrator username and password
Secures management access to the switch.
By default, a user can still access the
monitor level of the CLI through the console
even if an enable password is configured.
3. CLI management access
In addition to the serial console, you can use
Secure Shell (SSH) or Telnet to access the
CLI over the network.
4. System IP address of the switch
An unused IP address from the office
subnet.
Note: The 2350 does not support using DHCP
to obtain its IP address.
5. Gateway router IP address
IP address of the local access router. This is
a router through which the 2350 can access
the Internet and the VPN tunnel to the
corporate office
6. Time and date parameters
• Timezone (offset from UTC); for
example, Pacific Standard Time is
-8
• Summertime (Daylight Savings
Time) offset
• Network Time Protocol (NTP)
server IP address
IP address of an NTP server to provide time
and date information to the switch. Using
NTP is an alternative to configuring the time
and date locally on the 2350.
