Table 11: Configuration Parameter List (continued)
Configuration Parameters
12. Service Set Identifier (SSID) name
Name of the wireless network in your local
WLAN.
Each SSID's parameters are controlled by a
service profile. You also must enter a service
profile name when you configure SSID
parameters.
Note: If you have more than one SSID, write
down this information for each SSID. An AP
radio can support up to 32 SSIDs, and the
encryption settings are not required to be the
same on all SSIDs.
13. Is the SSID encrypted?
For each SSID, also indicate whether you
want the AP to encrypt the wireless traffic or
send it in the clear.
14. Encryption settings for the SSID
The following are supported:
• Static WEP
• Dynamic WEP (enabled by
default)
• WPA with TKIP
• WPA with AES/CCMP
(An SSID on a Nortel radio can support both
WEP and WPA.)
Note: You must use 802.1X as the
authentication type for accessing an encrypted
SSID. Other authentication types apply only to
unencrypted (clear) SSIDs.
15. AP model and serial numbers
• AP model number—Model
number of the AP; for example,
2330. The model number is
located on the sticker on the
back of the AP.
