Troubleshooting
Cutting wheel
Problem
Frayed edges or tears, cut wanders out
of line, increased wear at the sides of the
segments
Frayed edges, cut wanders out of line, lit-
tle or no cutting performance, sparking
Poor cutting performance, high level of
segment wear
Chipping or cracking in the wheel core
and segments
Undercutting
1)
STIHL recommends that an authorized STIHL servicing dealer be consulted.

Likely Cause
Radial or axial run-out
Cutting wheel wobbles
Cutting wheel is blunt; built-up edges on cut-
ting wheels for stone
Cutting wheel rotates in the wrong direction
or the cutting wheel is worn out
Overload
Cutting material for which the wheel is not
rated
Possible Remedy
1)
Consult a dealer
Use a new cutting wheel
Dress the cutting wheel for stone by
briefly cutting in abrasive material;
replace with a new cutting wheel
Mount the cutting wheel in correct direc-
tion of rotation; replace the cutting wheel
if it is worn out
Replace immediately with a new cutting
wheel
Use a new cutting wheel
