Periodic Inspection

This section describes items that must be inspected one or two times every six months to one year.
When the equipment has been relocated or modified, or wiring layout has been changed, inspect the items.

6.2 Periodic Inspection
Inspection method

Ambient temperature Measure the temperature by
using a thermometer.
Ambient humidity Measure the humidity by using
a hygrometer.
Atmosphere Measure corrosive gases.
Measure a voltage between the
terminals of 100/200VAC and
24VDC.
Looseness and rattling Touch the module to check for
the looseness and rattling.
Attachment of dirt and Check visually.

Terminal screw Check for the terminal screw

Judgment criteria

The module must be mounted
securely.
Dirt and foreign matter must
not be attached.
The terminal screws must not
be loose.
The proper clearance must be
provided between solderless
terminals.
The cable connector must not
be loose.
The LED must be off.
The battery must not be used
more than five years.
SM51 or SM52 must be off.
An event history must not be
updated.
Maximum scan time must be
within the allowable range
given in the specification of the
system.
Corrective action
Create the environment that
satisfies the judgment criteria
Change the supply power.
Retighten the screws.
If the module is loose, fix the
module with screws.
Remove them. Clean the
programmable controller.
Retighten the screws.
Provide the proper clearance.
Connect the connector with no
loosening securely.
Replace the battery when the
LED is on.
Replace the battery if it has
been used more than 5 years.
Replace the battery when
SM51 or SM52 is on.

Specify causes that increase
the scan time.
Check the operation status of
the trigger signal that passes
through a loop if loop positions
exist in the sequence program.
