RF Set Points

To set an RF setpoint, use the
change the value. In ALC mode the operator can use the RF setpoint to have the amplifier
automatically adjust the output power to the setpoint level. If input drive level changes the
amplifier will adjust its internal attenuator to keep output power at the RF setpoint. To return to
the main screen press SET PWR while in set power.
5.3.6.3

Changing Power Modes

To change the power mode, use
keys to change the value. Changing power modes requires the amplifier to be in local mode.
In manual mode the operator can adjust the attenuator change the output power of the Indoor
SSPA without adjusting input power level. Changing the attenuator in manual mode will not
change the power mode.
In ALC mode the operator uses the RF setpoint to automatically maintain a constant power
level. If the attenuator is adjusted in ALC mode the power mode will change to manual.

5.4 Remote Operation via Web Interface

The Indoor SSPA can be operated remotely via a web browser. This is performed through the
Ethernet interface (J14). The amplifier can be connected to a LAN using a 1 to 1 Ethernet cable
or directly to a PC via an Ethernet crossover cable. This section explains how to setup the PC
for communication and describes the interface screens.
5.4.1

PC Setup

The IP address can be changed from the factory default setting. To setup a PC complete the
following steps:
1. Open network connections.
2. Right click on the LAN connection.
3. Click properties.
4. Select Internet protocol (TCP/IP).
5. Click properties.
6. The Internet protocol properties screen should appear.
7. Fill in the subnet mask field with 255.255.255.0
8. Fill in the IP address with the address with the portion changed to be different from the
amplifier. To view or set the IP address of the amplifier refer to the "IP Setup" section in the
"Initial Power On and Checkout" chapter.
Your workstation PC is ready to connect.
