Figure 5-1 displays the on/off push button indicator, LED indicators, main menu display
screens, main control keys, MENU key, and SET PWR key. The "SSPA Functional Tree" chapter
contains a software map.
Refer to the "Initial Power-On and Checkout" chapter for "Data Organization", and "Navigation"
5.3.1

The On/Off Push Button

The On/Off push button located on the front panel in the upper left hand corner energizes the
interior circuitry and causes the M&C board to enter its boot sequence diagnostics. Should the
amplifier pass all on board diagnostics, it the LED on the pushbutton will illuminate green or
red dependant on previous operating state. Refer to Table 5-1 for ON/OFF push button
indicator status LED.

There are two methods to shutting down the unit using the On/Off push button. The first
method is to press and hold the push button for five seconds. The second method is to push the
button and the operator will be prompted "Shut down now?" Yes or No. Use the arrow keys to
make a selection and press enter to confirm. To prevent, accidental loss of carrier, if the
amplifier is in transmit mode, the amplifier will query the user on the front panel, if the
intention is to shut down the amplifier.
