Verifying Meter Readings

After verifying the factory settings and test functions of the Indoor SSPA in standby state,
follow these steps to proceed to transmit state to verify the unit is functioning properly.
1. Verify that "LOCAL", "STANDBY", and "MANUAL" appear at the top of the main screen
on the front panel display. If the amplifier is in REMOTE mode press MENU and enter the
SETUP to change REMOTE to LOCAL. If the amplifier is in transmit mode from the
previous shut down press standby.
2. Verify that no fault message is present. If "FAULT" appears at the top of the main screen
refer to the "Operation" chapter.
3. Verify that the RF input and the RF output are connected to a 50-ohm RF matched source
and waveguide load, respectively.
Note: The RF drive should be off so do not apply RF drive at this time.
4. Press SET PWR and change the attenuator to maximum attenuation of 23 dB.
5. Verify that the RF output on the main screen reads 0 watts.
6. Press TRANSMIT key. The main screen should show transmit. If "FAULT" appears at the
top of the main screen refer to the "Operation" chapter.
7. After the unit has been on for at least five minutes, apply approximately –40 dBm input
drive to the RF input (J2) of the Indoor SSPA.
8. Using the SET PWR menu adjust the attenuator to set RF output power to a safe level such
as 10% of the units rated power.
