Page P.12
The servo sections in the chassis are intended for standard servos. If you want to install smaller servos (35.5 x 15 mm), use
the included installation frames (see fig. 1).
Since the installed balls do not run in a line around the rotational centre at the reversing levers # 204512 and #204514 (also
see page P.5), the attachment points on the servo discs must be selected according to the sketch at the top left. If you are
using the servo levers with bores offset by 180°, the reversing levers with the GAUI numbers #204612 and #204614 from
the accessories list must be used.
Make the required linkage rods according to the sketches in figures fig.2 and fig.3 and install the servos. For the precise
placement, see figures fig.2 and fig.3.
Important!
If your helicopter model was delivered with the servos, observe the precise type designation of the servos. For the
swash plate, three servos of the same type (e.g. GS 501) must be used, whereas the tail control requires a faster
servo (e.g. GS 502).
Install the tail rotor linkage rods and screw on a ball-head socket on the front and rear. The correct length of the tail rotor
linkage is achieved when the front tail servo lever (see fig.2) and the rear reversing lever have a 90° angle to the linkage
wire. If the linkage wire runs in parallel to the tailboom, the front guiding sleeve can be fastened to the tailboom with a drop
of instant glue.
Attach the gyro to the platform above the nod servo with double-sided adhesive tape (both fig. 5) and install the speed
controller and the receivers.
Install the speed controller on the chassis bottom according to the figure. Never attach it to the assembly platform at the
front left of the chassis. In this case, the controller may overheat and would then switch off the motor in flight. If required,
the connection cables must be extended. Observe contact-safe solder points.
A precise functional description of the gyro and flight controller can be found after the installation instructions.
Attention!
Since high-performance electrical drives can be very dangerous, we recommend disconnecting the motor from the
controller for any maintenance and setting work. This reliably prevents inadvertent start-up of the mechanics.
After installing the servo levers and linkages, call a helicopter programme with a 3-point 120° swash disc control (HR-3) in
your remote control transmitter. Set the correct running direction and precise centre position of the servos and limit the
servo paths in the swash plate mixing programme to 50%.
The figure fig.6 shows attachment of the flight battery with removable cable ties if two 3-cell rechargeable batteries can be
used.
