TB8100 Service Kit User's Manual
Operating range is another term for switching range.
The PA (power amplifier) is a base station module that boosts the
exciter output to transmit level.
The PMU (power management unit) is a module that provides
power to the subrack.
Pre-emphasis is a process in the transmitter that boosts higher
audio frequencies to improve the audio quality.
The reciter is a module of a TB8100 base station that acts as
receiver and exciter.
Reverse tone bursts can be used with CTCSS. When reverse
tone bursts are enabled, the phase of the generated tones is
reversed for a number of cycles just before transmission ceases. If
the receiver is configured for reverse tone burst, it responds by
closing its gate.
RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) is a level in dBm or
volts that indicates the strength of the received signal.
Run mode is the normal operating mode of the base station.
A signalling profile is a named set of configuration items related
to signalling that can be applied to any channel. Items include
subaudible signalling and transmit timers.
