Morse
In the Add or Edit Channel Profile dialog box, CWID System tab, the Morse
area lets you specify a unique ID for the base station. The speed of transmission
and the tone used can also be configured, but you should not need to alter the
default settings.
Specifies the speed of Morse code transmission. The 5-letter word PARIS is
used to establish the number of words per minute. This word corresponds to
50 dots.
The frequency of the tone used to transmit the Morse code.
Enter into this box up to 30 characters to be transmitted as the station ID. You
can enter any character or digit that the international morse code alphabet
supports (A-Z, 0-9, and punctuation marks). These characters will be
transmitted using the International Morse Code convention. You can also enter
spaces. They result in a silence equivalent in duration to seven dots.
Automatic CWID system
In the Add or Edit Channel Profile dialog box, CWID System tab, the
Automatic CWID system area lets you enable and configure the automatic
sending of the base station's CWID according to the configuration in the Morse
area.
Select the Automatic CWID system check box to enable the regular sending of
the base station CWID.
Note:
If the transmitter is keyed in the middle of a regular CWID
transmission, the CWID burst continues to the end. However, if the
CWID burst occurs during the transmit tail (at the end of the call or
because the After audio or After signalling options were selected), it is
interrupted and re-started after the receiver gate closes or the transmitter is
de-keyed. The base station can only transmit the complete CWID when it has
enough idle time.
Specifies the interval in minutes between one identity broadcast and the next.
