Enhanced FAX Operations

Class 1 FAX/Modem

The Class 1 fax/modem interface enables your fax unit to function as a Class 1
fax/modem for any IBM-compatible computer, by sending and receiving fax
messages directly from your computer. You can also use the interface to scan and
print documents with fax resolution quality.
The interface works with the following fax software:
1. WinFax Pro
2. LaserFax Class 1
It is possible to user other Class 1 computer software, but there is no guarantee for
their operation.
NOTE:
• For software installation and operation, refer to the PC fax software
vendor document.
• The maximum fax communication speed is 14,400 bps in Class 1 mode.
1) Class 1 interface
A serial port (RS232C) connection is required for this to work.
-PC end: in conformance with your PC
- Machine end: 9-pin D-SUB male.
2) Setting up Class 1
To ensure your machine can work with the Class 1 software correctly, make sure
the No. of rings setting in your machine is greater then the setting in Class 1 soft
ware.
Most Class 1 software setting the number of rings=2, so you have to set your
machine a greater number of rings. For example: 6.
