14 Press Clear key to reset the drum counter.
15 Press Clear key one more time.
16 Machine will return to standby mode automatically.
Periodical Cleaning of the Scanner Path
To ensure the best possible scanning quality, paper lint and dust should be cleaned
from the area around the contact image sensor periodically.
Open the control panel and gently wipe off the area over the scanner(shown in illus-
tration below).
Reading Counters
Three counters are accessible to machine operators: drum, printing and scanning. The
first tracks drum usage and can be reset each time the image drum unit is replaced.
The latter two keep track of the number of pages printed and scanned by the machine
over its lifetime. If a problem is experienced with the machine, a service representa-
tive may ask for these counters to be checked (see Basic Operations).
