This filesystem will be automatically checked every 27 mounts or
180 days, whichever comes first. Use tune2fs -c or -i to override.
[root@Palau ~]#
3. Create the mount point, and mount the vpath drive, as shown in Example 12-26.
Example 12-26 Mount point
[root@Palau ~]# mkdir /itsosvc
[root@Palau ~]# mount -t ext3 /dev/vpatha /itsosvc
4. The drive is now ready for use. The df command shows us the mounted disk /itsosvc,
and the datapath query command shows that four paths are available. See
Example 12-27.

12.6.4 Using the operating system Device Mapper Multipath (DM-MPIO)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEL5) and later, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
(SLES10) and later provide their own multipath support for the operating system. Therefore,
you do not have to install an additional device driver such as SDD.
Always check whether your operating system includes one of the supported multipath drivers.
You can obtain this information in the links that are provided in 12.6.1, "Linux Fibre Channel
attachment" on page 560. In SLES10, the multipath drivers and tools are installed by default.
For RHEL5, though, the user has to explicitly choose the multipath components during the
operating system installation to install them. Each of the attached SVC LUNs has a special
device file in the Linux /dev directory.
