6.1.1 Creating a generic volume

The most commonly used type of volume is the generic volume type. This type of volume is
fully provisioned, with the entire size of the volume space dedicated to it. The host and IBM
Flex System V7000 Storage Node can see the fully allocated space.
To create a generic volume, complete the following steps:
1. Click New Volume and select Generic as shown in Figure 6-3.
