• After mounting a new tire, ride conserva-
tively for a while to become accustomed
to the "feel" of the new tire and to allow
the tire to seat itself properly in the rim.
Failure to do so could lead to an accident
with possible injury to the rider or dama-
ge to the motorcycle.
• After a tire has been repaired or repla-
ced, be sure to tighten the tire air valve
stem locknut

7. Check:
• wheel bearings
Front wheel turns roughly or is loose
Replace the wheel bearings.

8. Replace:
• wheel bearings
• oil seals
New
a. Clean the outside of the front wheel hub.
b. Remove the oil seals with a flat-head
screwdriver.
NOTE:
To prevent damaging the wheel, place a rag
between the screwdriver and the wheel surfa-
ce.
c. Remove the wheel bearings with a general
bearing puller.
d. Install the new wheel bearings and oil seals
in the reverse order of disassembly.
