17.21 Host computer operation

Application
The machine tool builder defines the behavior and
functionality of the host computer operation. The machine
tool manual provides further information.
With the HOST COMPUTER OPERATION soft key you transfer the
command to an external host computer in order to transfer data to the
control, for example.
Permitting/Restricting external access

Select the Programming and Editing operating mode or Test Run
mode
U
Press the MOD key to select the MOD function.

Scroll through the soft-key row
U
Activate Host computer operation: The TNC shows an
empty screen.
U
Terminate Host computer operation: Press the END

Note that your machine tool builder can specify that you
may not terminate host computer operation manually;
refer to the relevant machine tool manual.
