24. Remove the input clutch housing assembly by
lifting straight up as shown in Figure 37.
25. Remove the number one thrust bearing from
inside the input housing as shown in Figure 37.
26. Remove the number 5 selective thrust bearing
from back side of the input housing, or from
the 2-4 support in transmission (See Figure 37).
27. Set the input clutch housing assembly aside for
component disassembly.
28. Remove the 2-4 clutch retainer front snap ring,
which is a tapered snap ring, from transmission
case as shown in Figure 38.
29. Remove the 2-4 clutch retainer from the trans-
mission case, as shown in Figure 38, and set
aside for component disassembly.
30. Remove the 2-4 clutch retainer rear snap ring,
which is a flat snap ring, from the transmission
case as shown in Figure 38.
31. Remove the 2nd clutch pack, 2 steel plates and
2 friction plates, from the transmission case as
shown in Figure 39.
32. Remove the 2nd clutch pressure plate from the
transmission case as shown in Figure 39.
