Adding engine oil

Too little engine oil or poor-quality engine oil results in premature wear to the engine.

Removing the engine

Start the engine and check for oil tightness.
Finishing work

Remove the rear of the motorcycle from the lifting gear. (

Check the engine oil level. (
–
Install the front fairing. (
–
Install the engine cowl. (
Preparatory work
–
Remove the engine cowl. (
–
Remove the front fairing. (
Main work
–
Remove filler plug
–
Fill up with engine oil.
Engine oil (SAE 0W/40) (
Info
For optimal performance of the engine oil, do not mix different types of
engine oil.
If appropriate, change the engine oil.

Install and tighten the oil filler plug with the O-ring.

Check the engine oil level. (

Raise the rear of the motorcycle with lifting gear. (

Remove the engine cowl. (

Remove the front fairing. (

Remove the fuel tank.

Take off the air filter box lid.
–
Disconnect the battery.
–
Remove the battery holder.
–
Completely drain the coolant.
When running the engine, always make sure there is sufficient ventila-
tion, and do not start or run the engine in an enclosed space without an
effective exhaust extraction system.
