BEARING REPLACEMENT
Always rap/sea the
Drive out the upper and lower bearing outer races
bearings and using the special tool.

Drive new upper and lower bearing outer races into
the steering head pipe using the special lools as
shown.
TOOLS:
Driver 07749 - 0010000
Attachment, 37 X 40 mm 07746 - 0010200
Temporarily install the steering stem nut onto the
stem to prevent the threads from being damaged
when removing the lower bearing inner race from
the stem.
Remove the lower bearing inner ra ce with a chisel
or equivalent tool, being careful not to damage the
stem.
Remove the dust seal and washer.
Install the washer over the steering stem.
Apply grease to 8 new dust seal lips end install it
over the steering stem.
Install a new lower bearing inner race using
a
spe-
cial tool and a hydraulic press.
