BATTERY INSPECTION
1. Inspect :
• Battery fluid level
Fluid level low © Add to proper level.
Fluid level should be between upper and lower
level marks.
Q Upper level
W Lower level
CAUTION:
Refill with distilled water only. Tap water
contains minerals which are harmful to a
battery.
2. Inspect :
• Breather hose
Obstruction © Remove.
3. Inspect :
• Battery

Replace the battery if :
G
Battery voltage will not rise to a specific value
or bubbles fail to rise during charging.
G
Sulfation of one or more cells occurs. (As
indicated by the plates turning white, or an
accumulation of material in the bottom of the
sell.)
G
Specific gravity readings after a long, slow
charge indicate that one cell is lower than the
rest.
G
Warpage or buckling of plates or insulators is
evident.

4. Measure :
• Specific gravity
Less than 1.280 © Recharge battery.
Charging Current :
Specific Gravity :
