DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING MODE

It is possible to monitor the sensor output data or check the activation of actuators without connecting
the measurement equipment by simply switching the meter indication from the Normal mode to the
Diagnostic monitoring mode.
Switching the mode to the Diagnostic monitoring mode
Turn ON the main switch while pressing both the select-button and the reset button of meter. (If the
state of pressing buttons is continued over 8 seconds, the LCD display of the clock display will be
switched to "DIAG".) Stop pressing the select-button and the reset button when the display is
changed.
Selection of the Diagnostic monitoring mode:
Display changes between "CO" (CO adjustment mode) and "DIAG" (Diagnostic monitoring mode)
every time the select-button is pressed.
Determining the mode:
Mode can be determined by displaying the "DIAG" (Diagnostic monitoring mode) and pressing both
the select-button and the reset button for longer than 2 seconds.
Selection of the Diagnostic monitoring code:
Select the code by pressing the select-button or the reset button.
Select-button: Increase*
Reset button: Decrease*
* When the button is pressed for a long time, the display changes automatically. It stops when the
button is released.
Monitoring the sensor output data and checking the activation of actuators
Monitoring the sensor output data:
When the Diagnostic monitoring code is selected, the output data is displayed on the meter. Refer to
the Sensor operation table to judge the sensor performance.
Checking the activation of actuators:
S Actuator is activated when the engine stop switch is turned ON after selecting the Diagnostic moni-
toring code.
* When the Diagnostic monitoring code is selected, if the engine stop switch is turned ON, turn it OFF
once, then turn it back ON. Refer to the Actuator operation table to judge the actuator performance.
FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
Turn OFF the main switch.
Turn OFF the engine stop switch.
Disconnect the coupler fo fuel pump.
