CHECKING THE FRONT WHEEL

1. Check:
S wheel axle
Roll the wheel axle on a flat surface.
Bends ! Replace.
WARNING
Do not attempt to straighten a bent wheel
axle.
2. Check:
S tire
Refer to "CHECKING THE TIRES" in chapter
3.
S front wheel
Damage/wear ! Replace.
3. Measure:
S radial wheel runout 1
S lateral wheel runout 2
Over the specified limits ! Replace.
Radial wheel runout limit
1 mm
Lateral wheel runout limit
0.5 mm
4. Check:
S wheel bearings
Front wheel turns roughly or is loose
! Replace the wheel bearings.
Refer to "DISASSEMBLING THE FRONT
WHEEL" and "ASSEMBLING THE FRONT
WHEEL".
