INSTALLING THE CYLINDER HEAD

1. Install:
S gasket
New
S dowel pins 2
2. Install:
S cylinder head
NOTE:
Pass the timing chain through the timing chain
cavity.
3. Tighten:
S cylinder head nuts 1 X 6

Final
NOTE:
S Lubricate the cylinder head nuts and bolts with
engine oil.
NOTE:
S First, tighten the nuts 1 X 6 to 18 Nm (1.8
mSkg) with a torgue wrench.
S Loosen the nuts one by one following the tight-
ening order and then thighten them to 18 Nm
(1.8 mSkg) again.
S Retighten the nuts to 150_ with angle torgue
gauge.
CAUTION:
S Use an angle torgue gauge 1 and tighten
at the correct angle.
S If an angle torgue gauge is not available, do
not tighten at an angle because accurate
tightening cannot be expected.
Thightening in this case should be con-
trolled by torgue and final tightening
should be to 40 Nm (4.0 mSkg).
4. Install:
S exhaust camshaft
S intake camshaft
Refer to "INSTALLING THE CAMSHAFTS".
