Clean Carriage Underside
NOTE
The Océ IJC256 ink formulation causes a more sticky ink build-up between nozzle plates when
compared to Océ IJC255 ink. This ink build-up requires cleaning with a lint-free cloth wetted with
flush, rather than a dry one. Follow up with a dry cloth to ensure that all residual flush is cleaned
from the surface. This ensures that the flush will not attract particulate matter from the
environment and media surfaces, which can be re-deposited on the recently cleaned surface.
[121] Clean the nozzle plates between printheads
6.
Reposition the wipe so that a clean area is exposed.
7.
Proceed to the next space between printheads and slide the clean area of cloth along the metal
plate.
8.
Repeat steps 3 to 6 until all ink is removed from the spaces between printheads. Use a new cloth
wipe, if necessary.
NOTE
Check for ink on a daily basis, especially at the end of the day in case ink has accumulated on the
nozzle plates. If ink is left to long it will dry and be very difficult to remove.
9.
Slide the maintenance station drawer to the closed position (unless you are going to also perform
printhead maintenance).
