The anti-tipper is a component that has been designed to prevent the wheelchair from tipping over backwards.
The anti-tipper should never be used to support the back of the wheelchair with the rear wheels removed. If
the wheelchair must be used with the rear wheels removed, the optional transport wheels must be used.
Folding – Transporting
Flip up the footplate/s. Grasp the middle of the seat fabric in the front and the back and pull it upward
wheelchair will fold (fig. 3).
Use the strap to hold the folded wheelchair in position also when being lifted (fig. 4).
Depending on the wheelchair model, there are additional folding possibilities to make the wheelchair more
manageable for car transportation etc. The "Avantgarde SL" model has a one-piece footrest that at the left side
can be detached and rotated toward the side of the wheelchair. This makes the wheelchair narrower when folded
(fig. 5).
The Avantgarde TR, Avantgarde V, Avantgarde FL, and Avantgarde XXL models offer a swing-away,
removable footrest with fooplate (fig. 6,7 and 8).
(For Avantgarde TR, Avantgarde V,and Avantgarde XXL models:) Swing the eccentric lever (fig. 7, item a)
of the footrest forward by 180° . The footrest including footplate can then be swung out or removed by pulling
upward.
The "Avantgarde TR" and "Avantgarde V" models offer a swing-away, removable footrest with footplate (figs. 6,
7 and 8).
Swing the eccentric lever (fig. 7 – item a) of the footrest forward by 180°. The footrest including footplate can
then be swung out or removed by pulling upward.
Be certain during reassembly, that the footrest locking device (fig. 8 - item c) catches into the slot in the frame;
then swing the eccentric lever (fig. 7 – item a) backward to its original position.
Note: By turning the oval-head screw (fig. 7 – item b) the lock can be adjusted to maximize performance.
(For the Avantgarde FL model:) Pull the lock-release assist (fig. 9, item a) backwards. The footrest can then
be swung to the inside or outside by 90° or removed by pulling upward (fig. 10).
The standard equipment includes removable quick release axles on the rear wheels, that facilitate transportation
of your wheelchair. Rear wheels with threaded axle can be optionally supplied (fig. 11).
Grasp with four fingers through the spokes close to the hub of the rear wheel and press your thumb against the
button of the quick release axle. You can easily pull off then the rear wheel. Use corresponding procedure
when remounting.
Be certain when remounting that the quick release axle securely locks into the quick release axle housing.
With the button not being depressed, the rear wheel should not be removable.

Accessory Parts

The wheelchair is designed as a modular assembly system, which means that certain accessory parts may be
adapted to your wheelchair. These may possibly help you to make life with your wheelchair easier. But do not
forget that accessory parts will increase the total weight of your wheelchair.
We would like to present you a choice of our options and accessory parts, that may facilitate use of your
wheelchair.
Tip-Assist (fig. 12)
Helps the attendant to clear obstacles, for example steps and kerbs, more easily.
Anti-Tippers (fig. 13)
Prevents the wheelchair from tilting over to the back. Recommended for the untrained wheelchair user and
children as well as in the case of extreme adjustments of the rear wheel.
By slightly pressing on the anti-tippers these will be disengaged and can be swung to the inner side (for Mounting
Instructions refer to page 9).
