Troubleshooting and Caring for the Printer

Detailed Symptom:
The top line (leftmost position) is not aligned, Ruled lines zigzags, or get off-positioned to the
left or right, the Ruled Line Adjustment is not effective. Characters are printed with their width
shortened.
Items to be Checked Beforehand:
1. The Feed Roller Gear is damaged, its teeth are missing, dirty, or attaching is defective.
2. The tension adjustment of the Carrier Belt of the Carrier Assembly. The Carrier Shaft is dirty, or it is loosely
attached.
3. The Pinch Roller Spring is damaged.
4. The Ruled Line Adjustment is confirmed.
Condition for
Check/Confirmation Items
Checking
Power OFF.
Manually move the Carrier
Assembly to the left and right to
confirm that it moves smoothly
(there should be no erratic
movements or excessively
heavy spots).
Detailed Symptom:
When cut sheet paper is used, the line pitch is irregular or one line is partially printed over
another.
Items to be Checked Beforehand:
1. The Pinch Roller (1) is dirty, or has foreign material stuck to it, or is damaged.
2. The Separator Spring is damaged.
3. The Carrier Assembly is damaged, or its attaching position is defective.

Only when cut sheet paper is used, the print start position gets off-positioned far to the right.

1. Paper detection by the PE Sensor ASM is defective.
2. The Main Logic Card Connector J2 connection is defective.
3. Initial Setting is defective.
