Troubleshooting and Caring for the Printer
Category Code: 1405
Detailed Symptom: Paper stalls on the Tractor Unit and is not fed at all.
Items to be Checked Beforehand:
1. The Tractor Unit linking gear is detached.
2. The Idler Gear linking is detached.
3. The Magic Logic Card Connector J4 connection is defective.
Condition for Check/Confirmation Items
Checking
Set paper, and Press the Load key to confirm
the printer is in that the LF Motor revolves
non-printable smoothly.

Detailed Symptom: Line feeding is performed conforming to the top line position.
Items to be Checked Beforehand:
1. Paper detection is defective due to the Load Sensor being damaged.
2. The Main Logic Card Connector J3 connection is defective.
Condition for Check/Confirmation Items

Execute Sensor Let paper feed in and out to
Test. confirm that the PE Sensor,
ASM, and Load Sensor are
correctly turned ON/OFF.
Points in Analyzing the Trouble
Feeding paper up to the top line position is performed a number of steps after the de-
tection of the paper edge by the PE Sensor. The number of steps is determined by
the initial set value. However, if the PE Sensor is defective, it is impossible to detect
the correct top line position or even the paper itself.
The LF Motor is a 4-phase stepping motor, and its correlated coil resistance is shown
on Page 4-27.
Continuous form feed paper cannot be fed.
