Detailed Symptom:
Abnormal noises are generated during paper feeding, paper loading into the printer (such as
squeaking, rattling, scratching, etc.)
Items to be Checked Beforehand:
1. Gear engaging is defective due to wearing or missing teeth of gears.
2. The Carrier Shaft is worn out, rusted, or needs lubrication.
3. Attaching of the LF Motor is defective or the motor itself is defective.
4. Attaching of the ASF is defective.
5. The ASF Feed Roller is worn out, rusted, or needs lubrication.
6. Attaching of the Optional Tractor is defective.
Condition for
Check/Confirmation Items
Checking
New Page
Execute with the ASF detached
to confirm that the phenomenon
does not persist.
When the phenomenon occurs
only with continuous form feed
paper, replace the Tractor Unit.

1. Ribbon Drive Gear
2. Carrier Shaft
3. Attaching of the CA Motor is defective, the motor itself is defective, or the pulley is worn out.
4. Attaching of the Print Head is defective.

Detach the Ink-ribbon Cartridge,
and confirm that the
phenomenon does not persist
during the POST.
