Troubleshooting and Caring for the Printer

Detailed Symptom: Certain dots are missing, or extra dots are printed.
Items to be Checked Beforehand:
1. The Print Head tip is dirty, or has foreign material stuck to it.
2. The Platen Assembly surface is dirty, or has foreign material stuck to it.
3. The Main Logic Card and SUB PCB Connection Cable (SUB Flex Cable) connection or contact is defective.
Condition for Check/Confirmation Items
Checking
Print Test with Check the Dot Pin Number
55 Kg paper referring to the Dot Fire Pattern.
Confirm the conductance and
connection of the Head Flex
Cable corresponding to the
Number.
Detailed Symptom: Generally, printing turns out to be light, scratchy, or of uneven density.
Items to be Checked Beforehand:
1. The Ribbon Drive Gear is damaged, or its teeth are missing.
2. Attaching of the Print Head is defective or loose. Confirm the Gap Set value. Confirm the Paper Thickness
Adjustment Lever position.
3. The Platen Assembly surface is dirty, or has foreign material stuck to it.
4. The life of the ribbon itself.
Condition for Check/Confirmation Items
Checking
Confirm that the ribbon is
correctly taken up during printing.
Detailed Symptom: Paper gets dirty, ink runs, the ribbon scratches the paper, ink spots remain.
Items to be Checked Beforehand:
1. Ribbon Drive Gear
2. Attaching of the Print Head is defective or loose. Confirm the Gap Set value. Confirm the Paper Thickness
Adjustment Lever.
3. Attaching of the Ink-ribbon Cartridge is defective.
Condition for Check/Confirmation Items
Checking
Power OFF. Confirm that the ribbon does not
get loose, does not scratch any
part, and is not taken up with
one side folded.
