Checking the YCC-S system
Indication of stop mode function indicator light does not change (indicator light does not come on or go
off).
1. Check whether "Err" is displayed in the multi-function meter center display.
If "Err" is displayed, refer to the troubleshooting when "Err" is displayed in "TROUBLESHOOTING
DETAILS (ECU)". Refer to "TROUBLESHOOTING DETAILS (ECU)" on page 8-43.
If a fault code number is displayed, refer to the troubleshooting for the fault code of the faulty system.
For all other cases, perform the following procedure.

a. Place the vehicle on the centerstand so that the rear wheel is elevated.
b. Start the engine, open the throttle, and shift the transmission up to 2nd gear.
c. Apply the rear brake to stop the rear wheel.
d. When the rear wheel stops, check whether the stop mode function operates.
e. Shift the transmission into 1st gear, and then push the stop mode function switch once.
f. Open the throttle, and shift the transmission up to 2nd gear.
g. Apply the rear brake to stop the rear wheel.
h. When the rear wheel stops, check whether the stop mode function operates.
If the stop mode function operates in step (d) and does not operate in step (h), or vice versa, replace
the meter assembly.
If the stop mode function operates or does not operate in both steps (steps d and h), perform the
following procedure.

1. Disconnect the hand shift switch
coupler and check the pins (bent or
broken terminals and locking condi-
tion of the pins), and then check the
locking condition of the coupler.

2. Disconnect the MCU coupler and
check the pins (bent or broken ter-
minals and locking condition of the
pins), and then check the locking
condition of the coupler.
OK ↓
3. Check for continuity (open or short
circuit) between the hand shift
switch coupler and the MCU cou-
pler.
