14.Install:
• Locknut "1"
• Fork spring
• Spacer
• Cap bolt (with front fork stepping motor)

NOTICE
Do not drop the cap bolt (with front fork step-
ping motor) or subject it to shocks.

a. Remove the rod puller and rod puller attach-
ment.
b. Install the locknut.
TIP
Install the locknut with its tapered side "a" facing
in the direction shown in the illustration.

2. Outer tube
c. Install the fork spring and spacer.
TIP
Install the spring with the smaller pitch "a" facing
up "A".

d. Reinstall the rod puller and rod puller attach-
ment.
e. Press down in the spacer with the fork spring
compressor "1".
f. Pull up the rod puller and install the rod
holder "2" between the locknut "3" and the
spacer "4".
TIP
Use the side of the rod holder that is marked "B".

g. Remove the rod puller and the rod puller at-
tachment.
h. Install the cap bolt (with front fork stepping
motor), and then finger tighten it.
TIP
Tighten the cap bolt (with front fork stepping mo-
tor) until it contacts the end of the damper rod
assembly.

WARNING
Always use a new cap bolt (with front fork
stepping motor) O-ring.
i. Hold the cap bolt (with front fork stepping mo-
tor) and tighten the cap bolt (with front fork
stepping motor) locknut to specification.
j. Remove the rod holder and fork spring com-
pressor.
