• If the preload is adjusted repeatedly, the pre-
load setting pictogram will flash 4 times and
the preload cannot be adjusted. Wait approx-
imately 6 minutes for the preload adjusting
function motor to cool down, and then try ad-
justing the preload again.

LUBRICATING THE REAR SUSPENSION

Lubricate the pivoting point and metal-to-metal
moving parts of the rear suspension.
Recommended lubricant
Lithium-soap-based grease
EAS20730

CHECKING THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL

1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.
TIP
• Place the vehicle on the centerstand.
• Make sure the vehicle is upright.
2. Start the engine, warm it up for several min-
utes, and then turn it off.
3. Check:
• Engine oil level
The engine oil level should be between the
minimum level mark "a" and maximum level
mark "b".
Below the minimum level mark → Add the
recommended engine oil to the proper level.

NOTICE
• Engine oil also lubricates the clutch and the
wrong oil types or additives could cause
clutch slippage. Therefore, do not add any
chemical additives or use engine oils with a
grade of CD or higher and do not use oils la-
beled "ENERGY CONSERVING II".
• Do not allow foreign materials to enter the
crankcase.
TIP
Before checking the engine oil level, wait a few
minutes until the oil has settled.
4. Start the engine, warm it up for several min-
utes, and then turn it off.
5. Check the engine oil level again.
