CHAPTER 2 BASIC OPERATIONS
1.1.2 Feeding to the Cutting Position (trim mode only)
On arrival at the cutter unit, the booklet is moved between the upper blade and the lower
blade (cutter unit) and then to the pressing section. (The upper blade is held in up position.)
The stopper mounted to the pressing section is normally kept upright, and is moved to a
specific position to suit each paper size while initialization takes place at the start of booklet
copying. Then, it is moved for fine adjustment (a specific period of time after the entrance
sensor PS101 goes ON) in keeping with the movement of the booklet.
The folded side of the booklet is hit against the stopper and stopped a specific period of
time after the feeding sensor PS102 goes ON, thus determining its feeding length (i.e., dis-
tance from the folded edge to the cutting position).
