Different actions are carried out depending on how long the key is pressed and the
system's current operating state. The duration of the keypress is divided into three
time intervals:

Operating modes and display priorities

The system software of the Aastra 415/430 recognizes various operating modes,
which are displayed with the LEDs F0, F1, F2, F3, F4 and SYS. In the following these
displays are referred to as combination patterns or patterns and are numbered for
easy reference.
The various operating modes have different display priorities, i.e.a mode with a
higher display priority will cover up the combination pattern of a mode with a
lower display priority. The combination patterns covered up are stored and contin-
ually updated in the background, which means that no patterns are lost.
The table below lists all the operating modes and their display priorities. The high-
est display priority is 1; the lowest, 7.

1 • After the system is shut down
• Shutdown mode lasts for 3 minutes. Thereafter the system
automatically changes to

• After a restart/first start
• Used as a progress indicator during startup
3 • Used for carrying out certain functions
• This mode is exited automatically if no input is made within
20 seconds.
4 • System is still capable of running but the system function
may be impaired.
• Problem needs to be remedied as soon as possible.
5 • System is running but a problem has been detected on one
or more wiring adapter slots.
6 • System is running normally but one function is active.
7 • System is running normally.
