Chapter 7. SLT Features

Message Waiting/Callback

Description
If you try to call an extension that is busy or does not answer, you can leave a message wait indication
at that extension, requesting a return call.
Operation
To leave a message waiting indication:
1. Lift the handset.
2. Dial the extension number.
3. While the telephone is still ringing, or when you hear the
busy tone, enter the Message Wait Set code (default = 4).
4. Replace the handset.
To answer a message waiting indication (Callback):
1. Lift the handset.
2. Enter the Message Wait Callback code (default = *6).
To cancel a Callback Message:
1. Lift the handset.
2. Enter the Callback Request Cancel code (default = *5).
3. Replace the handset.

The System has priority message waiting for 3rd-party voice mail. See "Voice Mail Integration
(Third Party)" on page 69.
