MAINTENANCE
COOLING SYSTEM HOSES &
CONNECTIONS
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Remove the left fairing lower cover.
Keep hanos and clothing away from the cool-
ing fan. as if starts Qmomarically.
Inspect the hoses for cracks and deterioration.
Replace.
if
necessary. Check the tightness of the
hose clamps and radiator mounting nuts.
DRIVE SHAFT JOINT
Remove the final gear case and drive shaft from the
pinion joint (Section 14),
Lubricate the drive shaft and pinion joint splines
with molybdenum disulfide grease.
Reinstall the drive shaft and final gear case (Section
14).
FINAL DRIVE Oil
INSPECTION
Place the motorcycle on its center stand on level
ground.
Remove the ojl filler cap.
Check that the oil level is slightly lower than the
lower edge of the oil filler cap hole.
Check for leaks, if the level is low. Pour fresh re-
commended oil through the oil filler hole until it
reaches the lower edge.
DRAINING
With the motorcycle on its center stand, put a pan
under the final drive. Remove the filler cap and
drain plug.
Rotate the wheel by hand to drain any residual oil.
