Pry off the circlip and remove the ball bearing and
washer from the crankshaft.
Check the ball bearing by spinning by hand. Replace
the bearing with a new one if it is noisy or has
excessive play.
CRANKSHAFT INSPECTION
Set the crankshaft on a stand or Vee blocks.
Set- a dial indicator on the center main bearing
journal. Rotate the crankshaft two revolutions and
read the (unout.

Measure the crankshaft main bearing journals and
crankpins with a mfcrometer for out-af·round and
taper.
SERVICE LIMITS:
Taper: 0.004 mm (0.0002 in)
Out-at-Round: 0.008 mm 10.0003 in}
NOTE:
The crankshaft cannot be repaired. Replace
if the journals or crankpins are burnt, cracked,
or out of tolerance; or if the runout is be-
