TIMING BELT REMOVAL
Remove the radiator (page 6-4).
Remove the timing belt covers.
Remove the timing mark hole cap.
Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the T·l mark on
the flywheel lines up with the index mark on the
engine case. The "UP" marks on the driven pullys
should be facing up as shown.

CRANKSHAFT
Identify each belt as left or right and also mark its
direction of rotation.
Mark the crankshaft pulley with tape or felt-tip
pen to indicate T.D.C. No.1 cylinder.
PULLYMARK
Loosen the tensioner bolts, then slip off the right
and left belts, in that order.
CAUTION:
To prevent belt damage. do not use
sharp
lools. such as a screwdriver, /0 pry ot!

to bend the valve!.
