1.6 Installing the Expansion RAM/Flash ROM Module FR-65
If you are installing an expansion RAM or a Flash ROM Module FR-65 to the printer
board, go through the following:
Points to Note for the Work
To protect the PCBs from dam-
age caused by static charges,
keep the following in mind:
• Wear a grounded wrist strap.
If there is no special ground-
ing device, ground it to the
frame of the host machine.
• Keep the PCBs (RAM/ROM)
in conducting bags until im-
mediately before using them.
• When handling a PCB, do
not touch any of its termi-
nals. Rather, hold it by keep-
ing your fingers on its edges
(base area).
• When placing a PCB, be sure
to lay it where means against
static charges are provided
(e.g., conducting mat; never
on a metal surface).
Otherwise, place it on or in a
conducting bag.
• Do not keep an object that
can become charged within
the work area.
