CYLINDER/PISTON REMOVAL
CYLINDER REMOVAL
NOTE:
The front cylinder uses the same service procedure
as the rear cylinder.
Remove the cylinder head (page 9-14).
Front cylinder only:
Remove the bolts, water hose joint and O-ring.
Remove the retaining clips.
Slide the cylinder joint collar toward either the front
or rear cylinder.
Lift the cylinder an'd remove it, being careful not to
damage the piston with the stud bolts.
NOTE:
• Attach a piece of wire to the cam chain to pre­
vent it from falling into the crankcase.
• Do not strike the cylinder too hard and do not
damage the mating surface with a screwdriver.
Remove the joint collar from the cylinder.
Remove the O-rings.
