Piston, Pin, and Connecting Rod Replacement (cont'd)
Reassembly
1 . I n s t a l l a p i s t o n p i n s n a p r i n g ( A ) .
Coat the piston pin bore in the piston, the bore in
the connecting rod, and the piston pin with engine
o i l .
Heat the piston to about 158"F (70'C).

4. Install the piston pin (A). Assemble the piston (B)
and connecting rod (C) with the arrow (D) and the
e m b o s s e d m a r k ( E ) o n t h e s a m e s i d e . -
I n s t a l l t h e r e m a i n i n g s n a p r i n g ( F ) .
T u r n t h e s n a p r i n g s i n t h e r i n g g r o o v e s u n t i l t h e
end gaps are positioned at the bottom of the piston.
